This thesis aims to develop the schedule management for the construction of the lined canal, section II, east sector, of the project Diques in Quebrada El León located in Trujillo city, La Libertad department. The research is applied in nature according to its orientation, and descriptive according to its validation technique. For the management proposed in this research, the methodology established by the Project Management Institute, commonly known as PMBOK, was applied, considering the sixth edition. This involved planning, developing, and, above all, controlling the schedule until the project's completion, achieving an improvement in the timeline compared to the actual execution of the project. The management process was as follows: first, all monthly progress reports submitted by the subcontractor were reviewed; second, the month with the most significant delay was selected to begin developing the schedule management; third, a project charter was created for planning; fourth, with the scope defined, a list of activities and milestones was developed; fifth, the schedule was created using Primavera P6 software, incorporating resources and durations based on lessons learned from the subcontractor and expert judgment; finally, earned value analysis was performed using SPI month by month, which helped control the schedule until the project's completion. The tools and techniques used included expert judgment, meetings, and the critical path method. Additionally, thanks to the PMBOK methodology, the specific objectives set out in the research development were achieved, as well as improving compliance with deadlines compared to the project's final baseline. Therefore, this thesis will be of great importance as a precedent for future projects aiming to improve deadline achievement and enhance project management control.
