The objective of this research was to determine the correlation between maternal attitudes and personality traits in mothers of an initial private educational institution in El Porvenir. For this, we worked with a sample of 106 mothers, with ages between 20 and 45, whose children belong to a private initial educational institution in the district of El Porvenir, province of Trujillo, with enrollment in force in the year 2019. For Two instruments were used to collect data: the Robert Roth Mother-Child Relationship Assessment (ERM) Questionnaire (1965), adapted and standardized by Edmundo Arévalo Luna (2008) and the Five Big Factor Questionnaire - Big Five ( BFQ) from Caprara, Barbaranelli and Borgogni. (1993). The results show that the Acceptance attitude predominates in the mothers evaluated, represented by 53.8%; 34.0% have an Overprotection attitude; 7.0% have an Overindulgence attitude; and 5.3%, presents a Rejection attitude; the average level in the dimensions Affability, Emotional Stability and Mental Opening of Personality Traits, with percentages ranging between 54.7% and 67.0% .; and the low level in the Energy and Teson dimensions, with percentages ranging between 43.4% and 49.1%. Multiple significant correlations, both positive and negative, were found between the dimensions of both study variables
