Determine the frequency of dental malocclusions associated with parafunctional habits in primary school children. Trujillo-2023. Materials and Methods: A prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study was carried out. 112 children were evaluated, including 56 men and 56 women from 6 to 12 years of age. To assess the prevalence of malocclusions and parafunctional habits, a previously validated data sheet was used. A descriptive statistical analysis was carried out considering absolute and percentage frequencies; Likewise, the Chi square test was used to evaluate the association of the variables under study. A significance level of 5% was considered. Results: 112 children from 6 to 12 years of age were evaluated, it was obtained that 64.3% (9) of the children who present atypical swallowing have class II malocclusion. In addition, it was found that the most frequent habit is atypical swallowing with 37.7%. The most frequent anteroposterior malocclusion according to Angle's classification is class I (80.4%). Conclusions: It was found that there is a relationship between atypical swallowing and class III malocclusion and open bite. It was found that the most frequent habit is atypical swallowing. The most frequent malocclusion was Angle class I. The most common anteroposterior malocclusion was Angle Class I in the left canine key.
