(p>0.05).
To determine if there is association between preeclampsia in pregnant women and the polycystic ovarian at Hospital of support Bagua Gustavo Lanatta Lujan during the period July 2016 and August 2017. Material and methods: A case-control retrospective study where we compared two groups of patients: 28 pregnant women who developed preeclampsia and 28 pregnant women who did not develop this complication. The association with polycystic ovary disease was investigated. Odds ratio was calculated and applied the chi-square test to determine their risk factor status. Results: The proportion of patient with polycystic ovarian syndrome in women with preeclampsia and without it was 69% and 31% respectively. The odds ratio calculated for polycystic ovary syndrome and risk for preeclampsia was 2.84. The chi-square statistic value for the polycystic ovary and its association with preeclampsia confer nonstatistical significance (p>0.05). Conclusions: Polycystic ovarian is associated with a 2.84 times risk of developing preeclampsia, but the risk is not statistically significant (p>0.05). “
