A correlational study between Emotional Dependence towards the Couple and Coping Responses has been made in medical students of a private university in Trujillo. For this purpose, a sample of 296 medical students from a private university of Trujillo, from the 1st to the 14th cycle, of both genders, with ages between 18 and 30 years old, with enrollment in force in the period 2016 - I, Using the Emotional Affective Dependency Inventory (IDAE) and the Adult Coping Response Inventory (CRI-A) for their evaluation. The results show, in terms of the Emotional Dependence towards the Couple, an average level of Emotional Dependence towards the Couple in general and in their dimensions predominates in the evaluated students, with the percentage of medical students that register this level that oscillate between 46.2% and 45.6%; And an average level in the dimensions of Coping Responses, with percentages ranging from 35.5% y 39.9%. Regarding the relational analysis, a very significant, negative correlation was found between Emotional Dependence towards the Couple and Coping Responses in the study subjects. Likewise, there is a very significant negative correlation between Low Self-esteem and the dimensions Logical Analysis, Positive Revaluation and Problem Solving of Coping Responses; And a significant, positive correlation with Acceptance and resignation and Emotional discharge; A very significant, negative correlation between Need for Affect and the dimensions Logical Analysis, Positive Revaluation and Problem Solving; And very significant, positive with Cognitive avoidance, Acceptance and resignation and Emotional discharge; A very significant correlation, negative, between Sociocultural Factors and the dimensions Logical Analysis, Positive Revaluation and Problem Solving; And very significant, positive, with Cognitive Avoidance, Acceptance and resignation and Search for alternative rewards.
