The present study had as objective to determine the hydrogen potential and the concentration of the fluoride ion of different toothpaste for adults commercialized in the northern region of Peru. The sample consisted of 16 different brands of toothpaste, separated into 4 groups according to their type of presentation (daily use for gingivitis, whitening and desensitizers) obtaining in different times 5 tubes of toothpaste of each brand but different batches , Making a total of 80 units of toothpaste tubes, was used for statistical analysis Student's t tests, ANOVA and DUNCAN The values of the mean hydrogen potential (pH) were found to be between 6.46 and 9.19 in the evaluated samples, while 50 samples were taken to obtain fluoride concentrations in toothpastes, ranging from 1033.4 to 1441.2 ppm. Concluding that the pH of the toothpaste evaluated complies with what is established by the Technical Quality Sanitary Standard for dental creams, neither does it comply with the value informed in the label and also 3 brands of toothpaste are not in the range established by The Sanitary Technical Standard for the addition of fluorides
