To determine whether total parenteral nutrition is associated factor with cholestasis in infants less than 32 weeks treated at the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray. Material and Methods: An analytical study, observational, retrospective, casecontrol type is carried out. The study population consisted of 56 preterm infants less than 32 weeks; who they were divided into 2 groups: with and without neonatal cholestasis. Results: The frequency of total parenteral nutrition in infants less than 32 weeks with cholestasis was 71 %. The frequency of total parenteral nutrition in infants less than 32 weeks without cholestasis was 28 %. Total parenteral nutrition is associated with cholestasis in infants less than 32 weeks with an odds ratio of 6.10 which was significant factor. Conclusions: Parenteral nutrition is associated with cholestasis in infants less than 32 weeks treated at the Hospital Victor Lazarte Echegaray factor.
