Objetive: Demonstrate if short intergenesic period is a risk factor asociated to gestational in pregnant in Trujillo Regional Hospital. Methods: Was conduced a analitic, observational, retrospective, cohorts investigation. The study population was conformed for 112 pregnants inclusion and exclusion criteries distributed in 2 groups: with short and optimal intergenesic period. Results: The average maternal age in pregnant women with short birth interval is optimal 26.8 years and 27.9 years (p> 0.05) respectively. Regarding the degree of parity pregnant in the short birth interval was 2.5 and 2.1 at the optimal birth interval (p> 0.05). The prevalence of anemia between short and optimal itnergenesic period were 52% y 32% respectively. Short intergenesic period relative risk related to anemia was 2.27 (p<0.05). Conclusions: Short intergenesic interval is a risk factor asociated to gestational anemia. The sociodemographic characteristics in both study groups did not differ significantly.
