The crop of sugarcane, Saccharumspp was introduced to Peru by the conquerors and spread along the Peruvian coast since then becoming the first agricultural industry which is preserved until today and which has made the sugarcane one of the most important agroindustrial crop in the country. The success of any crop depends largely on the quality of the seed, their viability, disease outbreaks, development capacity, in the specific case of sugarcane, the accumulated amount of sucrose juice stem. The Sugarcane is propagated asexually for commercial purpose, it means by “setts“ which are stem portions and which have 2 to 3 buds in their structure, the cutting length (seed) is 50 - 60 cm, 3 - 5 cm in diameter without cracking or pitting whole, straight and uniform. When considerations of the seed are taken into account, growing success is ensured by 50%, the remainder will depend on the management (water, fertilizer, temperature, etc). The main technological problems that limit the level of conflict in the domestic sugar industry is the use of varieties dating from the 1930s such as H-32-8560, H-37, H-1933, PCG12-745, also the seedbed doesn’t mean to work, and the contrary, the planting material are chosen from barracks whose behavior are favorable and favorable age, 8-10 months. In the context of sustainable agriculture competitive and environment friendly, and in the context of contributing to increased production, productivity and profitability of crops is that the management of the seedbeds of sugarcane must be handled a complex interaction of factors related to the knowledge of the productive capacity of the crop, making rational use of available resources. Emphasizing the renovation and / or genetic enhancement of existing varieties and it is therefore important to have a high quality seed, in seedbeds devoted exclusively for obtaining this.
