This research shows the influence of nadir period through the evaluation of hemogrammes during chemotherapy protocols using vincristine sulfate (0.03mg / kg) via intravenous to 16 dogs undergoing transmissible venereal tumuor (TVT) of the city Trujillo. After the basal application (day 0) of cytostatic, by day 7 it was found the diminishing levels of leukocytes (75%), eosinophils (81%), monocytes (50%) and erythrocytes (62%), values that although not under the normal range, indicate the lower point that they passed in that moment (nadir period). A frequent result, after first and second application was neutropenia (75%), lymphocytes and thrombocytes increased their levels by 62% and 81% respectively. As a conclusion, the chemotherapy protocol is dependent of the nadir period, and decrease in hematologic levels is caused by the use of the drug.
