Demostrate if obesity is associated condition to fibromyalgias in outpatients setting at Trujillo Belén Hospital. Methods: There was conducted an analytic, observational, retrospective and cohorts study. The study’s population was conformed for 120 patients, with inclusion and exclusion standards distributed in 2 groups: with or without obesity. Results: The frequencies of fibromyalgia in the group with and without obesity were 15% and 5% respectively. Relative risk of fibromyalgia related to obesity was 3 (p<0.01%). The averages of body mass index in the groups with and without fibromyalgia were 30.64% and 26.88%, respectively (p<0.01). Conclusions: Obesity is a risk factor associated to fibromyalgias. The average of body mass index in the group with patients with fibromialgia was significantly major than patients without fibromyalgia.
