The purpose of the study was to assess what the aesthetic perception of the smile with respect to space buccal corridor and lip height in patients and students of the last cycle of the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego. The design research is observational, descriptive, transversal and comparative type. The sample consisted of 102 individuals divided into two groups of 51 participants from patients and students. 0mm, +2 mm, +4 mm: the photograph of a woman's face, as amended on 2 different height levels for labial and buccal corridor space was used. Visual analog scale (VAS) was used to assess the aesthetic perception of smile. Statistical analysis was performed with T-student test with p <0.05 for quantitative variables and to compare populations the Mann-Whitney U test was used for p <0.05; finding no significant differences between the group of patients and students to evaluate the labial height (p = 0.831) and space buccal corridor (p = 0.610). Thus concluding that the prospect smile aesthetics of lip height and space buccal corridor assessed by patients and students show no significant differences in their evaluation.
