Trujillo.
Objective: To determine if Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an associated factor of Premature Birth (PB) in the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo during the period from January to April 2018. Material and methods: An observational, analytical study of cases and controls was carried out. The conformation of the cases and controls was made based on the presence or not of PB during the study period, having as a total of studied sample 339 puerperal women, distributed in the cases (113 puerperal women with preterm delivery) and controls (226 puerperal women without preterm labor). Results: We found a significant association between PTSD during pregnancy and the risk of developing PP [1,76 [1,05-2,94], (p < 0,031)], we observed the presence of PTSD in puerperal women with PB in 29.20% and puerperal women with a birth to Term (TB) in 19.47%; Likewise, the bivariate analysis showed that the average age among the groups of cases and controls were 27,01 ± 7,51 and 28,31 ± 6,53 years respectively (p> 0.05); the mean of the gestational age was 32,59 3,13 and 38,92 1,21 respectively (p <0.001). Conclusions: PTSD is an associated factor of PB at Trujillo Regional Hospital.
