2 y 10 minutos
The objective of this investigation was to determine the efficacy of the gutta-percha solvent in vitro of the essential oil of mandarin. Methodology: The study was quasi-experimental and longitudinal, the sample consisted of 60 No. 80 gutta-percha cones divided into three groups of 20 cones each. The cones were weighed on a Sartorius brand precision standard analytical digital balance, then each cone was individually placed in glass Petri dishes completely immersed in 5 mL of the respective solvent and the immersion time was controlled with a stopwatch at 2.5 and 10 minutes respectively; Then each cone was left to dry on absorbent paper at room temperature for 1 hour and the weight loss was recorded in grams (g).The normality of the data was evaluated with the Shapiro-Wilk test, which showed that the data distribution was abnormal, for which the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U test was obtained. Results: There was a statistically significant difference in the effectiveness of the cartridges between mandarin and orange essential oil at 5 minutes (p < 0.0001) but there was no significant difference at 2 minutes (p < 0.0001) and 10 minutes (p < 0.0001) respectively
