mellitus tipo 2. Además se demostró la significancia estadística de edad y sexo;
Objective: To determine the relationship between the albumin / creatinine index and 24-hour proteinuria in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Material and method: Analytical, cross-sectional research was carried out where 50 patients with hospitalized type 2 diabetes mellitus were selected or who went to an outpatient clinic of the internal medicine area in the period Junio - July 2019, where two studies of Urine to each patient: random albumin / creatinine index in urine and 24-hour proteinuria. Doornik-Hansen's bivariate normality test, Spearman's Rho coefficient, Jennrich Chi Square with statistical significance p <0.05 was performed. Results: Age, according to age group, had a higher correlation in patients older than 60 years (Rho de Sperman 0.823) compared to patients less than or equal to 59 years (Rho de Sperman 0.654) with p <0.05. Thus, in terms of sex, a higher correlation was found in male sex (Sperman's Rho: 0.768) compared with female sex (Sperman's Rho: 0.697), p <0.05. Regarding diabetic nephropathy, p = 0.1766 was found. Regarding the studies carried out; 24-hour albumin / creatinine and proteinuria index debuting Rho from Sperman; 0.716 with p <0.05. Conclusion: In this investigation it was determined that if there is a relationship between albumin / creatinine index and 24-hour proteinuria in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In addition, the statistical significance of age and sex was demonstrated; however, no statistical significance was found regarding diabetic nephropathy.
