This research work was carried out with the aim of improving the availability of products in a company in the hardware sector. It began with the identification of the causes that implied this problem, using the Ishikawa tool, which allowed determining the need for an inventory management design. The company was described, the current situation of the warehouse and the availability of products. In this context, a multi-criteria ABC classification was carried out based on the AHP hierarchical analysis considering the criteria of average annual demand, average annual margin and durability. Class A was taken into account, identified as the sample, and an analysis was also carried out: According to its dependence, behavior pattern and pattern with respect to time, in addition, forecasting methods were applied, in which those with the best error index were prioritized: MAPE, MAD, MSD. Immediately after, the normality of class A products was verified with the Shapiro-Wilk test, resulting in 19 products with normal distribution to which inventory management models were applied. Through calculations, the optimal inventory model for each product was determined: 7 products with periodic review P and 12 products with continuous review Q. A virtuous circle was created on how to manage inventories and the implications of the inventory management design were detailed in Figure 22. Based on the results obtained, a comparison was made between the current way of working and the proposed inventory management design, which led to an improvement in product availability, expressed in the following dimensions: An inventory coverage of twice the number of days of the current situation improved inventory rupture by 9%, decreased the days that products remain in the warehouse by 61% and finally, an efficiency of 23% was achieved in inventory planning. Finally, it is concluded that carrying out the inventory management design will solve the availability of products in the company
