The general objective of this research was to establish the relationship between financial culture and the indebtedness of users of Visa consumer credit cards from Banco de Crédito del Perú, in the city of Piura in 2021. It was a descriptive and cross-sectional correlational. To carry out this study, the survey was carried out as a data collection technique, and a questionnaire was designed that was an instrument for collecting information. The population consisted of 113 users of BCP's visa consumer credit cards in the city of Piura and, due to the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, a virtual survey was used using Google Forms as a tool. The results showed that the dimensions knowledge in financial products, credit conditions, means of payment, interest rates, budget and savings, the use of credit cards, consumption habits and the level of income and debt capacity, are related direct and significant with the level of indebtedness of users of Visa consumer credit cards of Banco de Crédito del Perú, in the city of Piura. Finally, the correlation analysis applying the Spearman statistical test indicates that financial culture is significantly related to indebtedness and to its dimensions, habits and consumption behaviors, and to the level of income and debt capacity, as deduced from the significance of the correlations, Sig. = 0.000, which turns out to be less than 0.05 in all cases. These results allowed us to accept the hypothesis raised in this research, demonstrating that there is a significant relationship between financial culture and the indebtedness of users of visa consumer credit cards of Banco de Crédito del Perú, city Piura 2021.
