The present research proposes the design of a bicycle network in the historic center of Trujillo, with the objective of promoting the use of non-motorized transportation. To this end, the following question was asked: What is the design of the bicycle network in the Historic Center for the promotion of non-motorized transportation? In order to resolve the question, a planimetric survey of the area was carried out, detailing the widths of the streets; In addition, a survey was carried out to find out the acceptance of the cycle path in the city; and, finally, the architectural design of the cycle path was carried out. During the design of the cycle path, it was discovered that there were 3 types of cycle paths, which will have adequate segregation elements to separate the motorized flow from the non-motorized flow, in order to guarantee the safety of users, as stated by the survey carried out, which showed acceptability by the population. On the other hand, from the topographic study it was possible to conclude that the smaller streets will have cycle lanes and unidirectional cycle paths; while on dual carriageway avenues, bi-directional cycle lanes may be implemented.
