The objective of this study was to determine if the application of the safe surgery list influences the reduction of surgical site infection at the Limatambo- Cajamarca Clinic, 2024. Regarding the methodology used, it was an observational, analytical and design study. retrospective, Case-Control type. The population was made up of 572 medical records of patients treated from January to June 2023 in the surgical center unit, making up a total sample of 66 medical records divided into 33 cases and 33 controls. The results showed an association between the saf surgery list and a decrease in surgical site infection. The Odds Ratio of 6.107 indicates that patients who did not undergo the safe surgery list are 6 times more likely to develop an operative site infection compared to those who did undergo the safe surgery list. It was concluded that the application of the safe surgery list does influence the reduction of surgical site infection
