Starting with a descriptive research design, which consists of analyzing a concrete situation, because it requires a thorough description and understanding of the current problem, its most characteristic features through field information, data collection, among other techniques. Starting with a study of maximum avenues, working with the conventional pluviometric station called ““Huamachuco““, because it has a greater extension of information. Where the probabilistic distribution that best fit is the Log Normal 3P, using the Kolmogorov Smirnov goodness-of-fit test. The maximum instantaneous flow was 107.17 m3/s, obtained by the arithmetic average of the Triangular Unit Hydrograph and DIPEO methods, which was considered for a period of 100 years. For the riverbank defense, a rockfill design was projected, because the river carries large boulders and stones, which generates a high erosion potential in the riverbed. The average diameter of the embankment fluctuates between 0.3m and 1.5m as minimum and maximum respectively. The design of the filter has been designed to allow an appropriate distribution of the weight of the rockfill, to provide a uniform settlement and to reduce the hydrostatic pressures present in the soil.
