The present research work includes a study on the identification of unfavorable climatic conditions associated to the degradation of the signal received in a microwave dorsal interconnection segment towards the city of Iquitos - Peru. The analyzed segment comprised 12 radio links that make up the Yurimaguas - Iquitos interconnection route, having made 192 observations by using a software tool that allowed the variation of the refractivity parameter. Once the critical refractivity values that generated deep signal fades were identified, recommendation ITU-R P.453 was used in order to relate critical refractivity values with typical conditions of atmospheric pressure, ambient temperature and humidity of the region. The results obtained allowed to identify the occurrence of fades both in conditions of minimum humidity and temperature (18 °C and 65% humidity), as well as in conditions of temperature elevation higher than 27 °C and typical humidity greater than 80%.
