The province of Sánchez Carrión is divided into 8 districts: Huamachuco, Sanagorán, Cochorco, Chugay, Sartimbamba, Sarín, Curgos, and Marcabal, which are further divided into 8 health micro-networks. A specific population is assigned to each of these networks, including health posts, health centers, and a hospital, the latter located in the district of Huamachuco, the capital of said province. The current Leoncio Prado Hospital, located in Huamachuco, is responsible for attending to more than 300,000 people per year, diagnosing acute, subacute, and chronic diseases, and receiving patients not only from Huamachuco but also from surrounding districts. It serves as a fundamental urban facility for public health in the province of Sánchez Carrión. However, it currently lacks adequate infrastructure to meet the minimum conditions required to support the epidemiological network demands of the province. Therefore, a descriptive investigation was conducted, resulting in the proposal of a feasible project aimed at improving the quality of care for the population, not only in Huamachuco but throughout the province of Sánchez Carrión, while complying with all demand regulations. Additionally, the project aims to reduce referrals and ensure that the population is served according to epidemiological demand
