This undergraduate thesis studies communication strategies in digital journalism in fashion press. This study arises from the interest in investigating how the specialization in fashion journalism adjusts to the digital era, focusing on the production of content for online platforms. The current panorama of this field is characterized by a fast transformation, driven by digitalization and changes in information consumption habits. Strong competition between digital media has led them to implement various strategies to modernize their approach and meet objectives related to digital convergence. Under this premise, 36 news articles about the Met Gala 2024 published on Vogue and Harper's Bazaar websites have been analyzed, two of the most relevant media in fashion journalism that have successfully transcended to digital sphere. The analysis aims to identify how two communication strategies were used in each medium: content curation and personalization. Vogue was found to be able to establish a perception of greater credibility and authority on fashion and style issues by using exclusive sources and a more dynamic approach, which could translate into greater public trust. In the case of Harper’s Bazaar, despite also seeking credibility, its more conventional approach could construct less attractive content in an environment where innovation is key.
