This work proposes the development of a distillation system to produce alcohol from cassava and its possible use and application as biofuel will be investigated. This distiller will be used to obtain alcohol concentrations that meet the stipulated bioethanol parameters. The objective is to produce alcohol in order to evaluate its use as a low-cost, renewable alternative biofuel called bioethanol, which is currently generated from other sources that require more care and expense in production. These biofuels, which are already sold, are still inaccessible in different parts of the country and there is little or no marketing. The problem stems from the need and scarcity of fossil fuels and the environmental impact they have, for which a search for cleaner renewable energy alternatives has begun. In this sense, through the present work, it is proposed to obtain alcohol from cassava by means of a process at the scale of a distillation plant for the generation of biofuels with a low-cost and abundant product. To obtain alcohol from cassava, fermentation and distillation processes will be used and the aim will be to achieve the highest possible alcohol concentration. The results obtained will be evidenced with a chromatographic test and an alcohol densimeter to reveal its composition and degree of concentration.
