The main objective of this paper work is to increase the availability of production line in a poultry company in the city of Lima, through the reduction of planned and unplanned stoppages during the operational time of the process. Due to this need, an analysis of possible root causes was developed and the operational losses were quantified. This information permits us to develop the proposal for the implementation certain tools. The main focus was in the implementation of process standardization for planed stoppages and a maintenance management model based on planned maintenance pillar of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodology for unplanned stoppages. To verify the effectiveness of the proposal, a comparison of the availability was made between the period of the first half of 2023 and the first half of 2024. From this point, the optimization was validated, which proves that the actions implemented lead the achievement of objective. The positive effects obtained, after using industrial engineering tools and methodologies, allowed an increase of 6% in the availability of the equipment. Likewise, this implementation also led to an increase in the volume of finished product and reduction of opportunity costs of service billing for non-productive times.
