Commercial brokerage is essential in international trade, facilitating transactions and optimizing resources. Since 2019, lentil imports (0713.40.90.00) have fluctuated due to the tendency of the Peruvian population to stockpile food out of fear of shortages (Chávez, 2020). This study aims to determine the relationship between brokerage and the performance of lentil importing companies from 2019 to 2023. Three dimensions were evaluated for the variable "Commercial Brokerage": (i) Network of contacts, (ii) Brokerage costs, and (iii) Commercial experience (know-how). For the variable "Import Performance," the dimensions considered were (i) Economic results and (ii) Business management. The research employed a mixed-method approach: qualitative, with a grounded theory design, and quantitative, with a descriptive-correlational cross-sectional design. Twelve semi-structured interviews were conducted with experts in brokerage and lentil importing companies, analyzed using Atlas Ti. Quantitative data were also collected through Likert scale surveys from 19 lentil importing companies (35% of the target population), processed with SPSS with a reliability of 80% (Cronbach's Alpha). The results revealed a moderate positive correlation between commercial brokerage and the import performance of lentil companies, with a value of 0.03 and a Spearman's Rho coefficient of 0.470. The research concludes that commercial brokerage had a positive and significant impact on the performance of lentil importing companies between 2019 and 2023.
