In an increasingly competitive and demanding job market, this study addresses the difficulty students face in effectively integrating into the work environment, especially when seeking their first pre-professional internships. Through an exhaustive review of various studies, we have found a significant correlation between soft skills and individuals’ success in selection processes, facilitating their job placement. It is evident that possessing specific technical skills acquired during academic education is not enough; these must be complemented with soft skills to improve an individual's employability. This study is conducted at a renowned Peruvian university offering a wide range of degree programs and boasting many years of experience. After a detailed analysis, we decided to focus on the Industrial Engineering program, given that it has the largest population of students nearing graduation. Based on the above, our project proposes the design of a soft skills program aimed at students who are about to complete the Industrial Engineering degree. The objective of this study is to provide the necessary tools to increase the employability of future graduates. The program will focus on developing three critical soft skills: communication, teamwork, and adaptability. These soft skills were selected due to their high demand in the job market and have been validated by both academic literature and human resources experts. This initiative aims to equip future industrial engineers with essential capabilities to excel in a dynamic and challenging work environment.
