This research aimed to determine the influence of self-compassion on the dimensions of burnout in informal caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorder in Metropolitan Lima. The population was 58 informal caregivers, of which, 42 are women and 17 are men, who have an average age of 39 years. The informal caregivers surveyed are mainly the children's parents (74.6%). The Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) was used to measure the level of burnout and the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) was used to measure self-compassion. The results obtained showed how self-compassion significantly predicts two of the three dimensions of burnout: emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. The influence of self-compassion on burnout is negative, which is why it is recommended to encourage self-compassion in informal caregivers of children with autism spectrum to prevent them from falling into burnout syndrome.
