Construction is one of the sectors that creates the most jobs, and is a reflection of how public and private investment is moving in the country. However, the construction sector has been experiencing stagnation and deceleration in recent months. There are 220 paralyzed works in the education sector nationwide, mainly due to causes not foreseen by any of the parties (43.7%) and due to breach of contract (12.5%). In this sense, organizations must not only deal with the slowdown in the sector, but also with the need to minimize unforeseen events in order to comply with the schedule of these projects. This research project presents a planning proposal using Lean tools to manage an educational infrastructure construction project within the established timeframe. For this purpose, the construction of a school located in Cusco has been taken as a case study, where Lean tools are applied to design a Production system with sectorization, train of activities and balanced resources. Subsequently, the assignment of responsibilities of the work team and the analysis of the deadline is carried out, culminating in the development of an internal schedule in which the schedule of the entire project is visualized. The application of Lean tools concludes with a saving of 3 weeks of work, with the balance of labor and with the reduction of variability in the construction of the project that can be applied to projects of similar characteristics in the public sector.
