The representation of diverse identities in audiovisual productions can mean addressing aspects related to queer, gender, sexuality, heteronormativity. This implies a problem for translation, as there must be concordance between them. Based on "trans*" (Halberstam, 2018), the Latin American Spanish subtitling and dubbing of the representation of trans* characters in Tales of the City (2019) are analyzed to compare them with their English version. For this purpose, content analysis, contrastive analysis, and translation techniques (Molina & Hurtado, 2002) were used. The analysis shows that the identities of the trans* characters are represented in terms of linguistic expressions that narrate their transitivity about gender and sexuality. The translation maintained the reference to transitivity with the use of verb tense, eliminated the sexual tone when the characters express their sexuality and modulated the offensive and taboo language, affecting their relationship with displays of masculinity, and it erased the sexual violence towards the transgender female characters.
