This professional proficiency work proposes a solution model based on the RCM tool (Reliability Centered Maintenance) with the objective of increasing the availability of the fleet of a logistics company specialized in the transportation of valuables. In 2021, an availability of 73% was evident in its armored units, in contrast to previous years. The main cause of this low availability was mechanical failures, prolonged periods of inoperability of the air conditioning system, problems related to electronic security and the lack of essential spare parts in stock. This situation generated an economic loss estimated at 27 million soles annually, considering various costs associated with the inoperability of the fleet. With the aim of reversing this situation, it is proposed to increase the availability of the fleet, using a scientific study that establishes an operational objective of maintaining the fleet reliability indicator above 91%. It is recognized that the growth and profitability of a company is directly related to the quality of service provided to customers. In this sense, it is concluded that the application of RCM will allow the maintenance management plan to be continuously improved, addressing aspects of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance, which will result in greater reliability in the fleet.
