The global economy depends on the day-to-day import and export of a variety of goods, including personal care products. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, this sector was compromised and faced enormous challenges to overcome at a global level. This paper describes the actions taken in a company dedicated exclusively to the importation of this type of products for distribution at the national level. It details how the use of the GMP life cycle, which is proposed in the CBok GMP, makes it possible to achieve a reduction in transportation costs and storage costs, both being logistic costs. In the first case, in addition to the implementation of the BPM life cycle, use is made of the approval of suppliers and the change of route from sea to land transport, with the implications at the flow level that this brings on the activities and roles. In the second case, the reduction of storage costs is addressed through the implementation of a pull system. To achieve this, close collaboration between suppliers and customers is managed, taking advantage of the benefits of the change of route and also reducing the initial lead time from 75 days to 7 days. Finally, the implementation of these improvements reduced the logistics cost from 14.04% to 7% of the sales value.
