This thesis research is based on the analysis and proposal to improve accessibility in the surroundings of the Guillermo Kaelin de la Fuente Hospital, for people with disabilities by applying the Wayfinding concept. For this purpose, field visits were made outside the hospital at the intersection of 26 de noviembre and Nicolás de Piérola avenues, located in the district of Villa María del Triunfo, to collect data on the current state of the study area based on accessibility barriers for people with visual, hearing, and physical disabilities. In this way, all identified barriers were analyzed and classified as urban, architectural and communication barriers. Following this, alternative solutions were proposed for the identified barriers incorporating the Wayfinding concept, which provides resources from which those that are suitable for the study area were chosen, as well as the geometric redesign of the pedestrian and vehicular routes in accordance with current regulations and the universal accessibility manual. The improvement proposal is designed in the Sketchup application, which provides a 3D view of the improvements made at the intersection that allows a comparative analysis between the current state and the proposed design based on the accessibility of people with disabilities. Finally, the proposed design is validated by means of expert judgments using Aiken's V, in which feedback and validation of the proposed design is obtained.
