The demanding quality in the construction sector is reflected in the requirement of building projects in recent years. These project buildings focus on a higher quality category, and it is here that subcontractors play an important role. However, contractors do not focus on choosing the best subcontractor with whom they will work in part or throughout the duration of the project and usually seek economic benefit, leaving aside the quality of the work to be done. Due to this, the selection method that subcontractors go through must be improved based on the quality of the company and thus be able to ensure a good work team that does not generate future inconveniences. The objective of this study is to determine whether, through a method of registration, evaluation, and subsequent selection of subcontractors, based on the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, a better quality of work can be obtained by subcontractors that reduces the risk of having rework, delays, among other common problems at work. To this end, the present investigation addresses the design of a management model of subcontractor companies, by specialties, based on the quality of the company with a model adapted to the construction sector to be subsequently evaluated according to the criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige Award, and Finally be selected to work with the contractor. In addition, it should be noted that the model is adaptable to the comfort of the contractor; In this way, the evaluation and decision to select a subcontractor is determined according to the work philosophy of each contractor. Considering the above, the research is divided into 5 parts. The first belongs to the introduction where everything related to the hypothesis, scope and objectives of the thesis is found. The second part covers the theoretical framework where the thesis environment is described, such as: contractor, subcontractor, contract, explanation of the Malcolm Baldrige Model and finally the scoring system to be used. The third part develops the methodology of the thesis. The fourth part is developed in the design of new process of the subcontractor management model. In the fifth part is developed the analysis of the results. Finally, chapters 6 and 7 contain the conclusions and recommendations of the research respectively.
