In Lima, the prioritization of vehicular flow over pedestrians is seen, appreciated in the short crossing time by the pedestrian. In this situation, the need to improve pedestrian traffic was found through a traffic light proposal that prioritizes pedestrian traffic. Consequently, the intersection of Av. Tomas Valle and Av. Alfa in Los Olivos district was chosen, where a high presence of school pedestrians was seen, that's caused by the existence of a school in the area and an attempt was made to reduce pedestrian waiting times. The entry time of school pedestrians was prioritized (7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.), where there is a greater pedestrian flow, and it is the main highlight point of the project. Firstly, data is collected in the place to be able to see and analyze the different problems in the area, its delimitation at the intersection and the behavior of the pedestrian and driver. Consequently, with the database obtained, the micro simulation was made out with the gauges extracted in the field, to then calibrate and confirm it. Which allowed us to describe and characterize the current situation of the study area. Afterwards, the best traffic light cycle was obtained with the Synchro software, and then calibrated and confirmed. Which allowed us to describe and characterize the current situation of the study area. Therefore, the simulation provided, with 30 samples, an average pedestrian crossing speed time of 4.27 km/h. Finally, the proposal for a new traffic light cycle was applied, that prioritizes pedestrian traffic over vehicular traffic, which allowed the development of improved waiting times at the pedestrian crossing, where waiting times were reduced by 28%.
