The main objective of this professional proficiency work, titled "Improvement in the Logistics Chain (Lead Time) of the Import Area of the Customs Agency", was to streamline and optimize the processes related to the import of merchandise in the agency. After an analysis of current procedures, essential strategies are proposed, such as the automation of interconnected processes between collaborators, continuous evaluation, staff training and effective communication. These practices are designed to reduce waiting times, minimize costs and guarantee the efficient logistics chain, providing a satisfactory experience to the final customer. A qualitative methodological was applied, appropriate to the case design. In this context, in-depth interviews were carried out with three key collaborators in the import area of the customs agency. These interviews were carried out through a virtual platform and lasted an average of one hour each. During these interviews, a total of thirty-three questions were asked. Three alternative solutions have been identified. First, focus on staff training and technical assistance. Second, establish a continuous improvement program in the transportation area, which includes monthly recognitions. Finally, consider subcontracting units in transportation operations. After the analysis carried out, it was determined that training and technical assistance to collaborators in related areas, such as billing and transportation, for more effective control of process times, is the most viable option for the company.
