In Peru, as in other parts of the world, it is common to see lawyers, economists, political scientists, or sociologists practicing journalism and, therefore, being called "journalists" by the media for which they work for. It is important to emphasize that this happens under the protection of the non-compulsory nature, at the international level, of belonging to professional associations of journalists, since different organizations consider it incompatible with the right to information. Given the informative treatment by professionals who have not been trained in journalism or communications and the little research in this regard available to date, the present work, of an exploratory nature, will seek to determine, through a qualitative methodology, how the participation of professionals from other disciplines in the exercise of journalism in the construction of a quality press is manifested. It was found that the participation of professionals who were not trained in journalism is made in the fields of interpretation or opinion, and not in information.
