In Peru, the COVID-19 pandemic caused a crisis in the educational field, because it was crucial to incorporate urgent technological strategies for the continuity of academic work such as remote work. This situation made visible the difficulties that the Peruvian education system had been presenting and how teachers’ engagement was affected by these new demands. This study aims to determine the relationship between work stress and WE in Lima Metropolitana (south side) teachers of basic education during the COVID-19 pandemic. This paper is based on an associative strategy and controlled correlational design. 311 male and female teachers of basic education from public and private institutions participated. The results indicated work stress as the central node, which could be due to the fact that positive interaction with bosses, appropriate access to the necessary resources, and having a good work team are essential for teachers' job satisfaction. The findings indicate that there are intergroup connections between work stress and the dimensions of WE; specifically, in work stress-vigor (r=-.24) and work stress-absortion (r=-.15). In addition, the comparison networks are invariant (M = .25; p = .360) and the connectivity in both networks are the same (S = .07; p = .300). Also, it was found that there is a relationship within women’s network that is not in men's.
