Purpose: Associate the knowledge and attitudes about Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea (POSA) with the dental specialty of professionals at Metropolitan Lima, Peru. Materials and methods: An observational, analytic, cross-sectional study was carried out during 2021-2022. We surveyed 210 orthodontists and dental pediatrists, who practice in Metropolitan Lima, chosen by convenience and availability. The survey included the Spanish translation of the OSAKA-KIDS questionnaire, adapted and validated, and additional socio demographic questions. The statistical analysis included: Mann Whitney U, Chi square and Fisher’s exact test and Poisson’s regression with robust variation. Results: The data indicated association between dental specialty and the professional’s knowledge about POSA. Orthodontists were 59% less likely to have acceptable knowledge, compared to dental pediatrists (p=0.013, IC 95% 0.21-0.83). We found association between the professional’s age and their confidence in identifying children at risk for POSA (p=0.025); their clinical experience and confidence in their ability to manage children with POSA (p=0.049); and, lastly, their work establishment with confidence in their ability to manage children receiving continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy (p=0.020). Conclusion: Knowledge was associated with the dental specialty of professionals in the sample included, whilst attitudes was not.
