The study aimed to make a proposal to increase the percentage of perfect orders using TPM in a metalworking company, dedicated to the manufacture of buckles and metal ornaments for the footwear and textile sector in national and international markets. To meet the objective, a methodology was followed that involved a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the best practices at the international level regarding the variable under study and a diagnosis for the identification of the problem (level of fulfillment of perfect orders in 52.3%), in which it was determined that the factors that affected this result was the delivery out of date, incomplete orders or quality claims; while the main causes were associated with the unavailability of machines and the reprocessing of defective products. To reduce the gaps between the situation raised and the improvement, an action plan was developed based on compliance with the 5 S methodology as a prerequisite for the implementation of the four pillars of TPM related to preventive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, focused improvements, and maintenance scheduling. It was concluded that the main effect that the improvements had through the application of the 5 S methodology and the TPM was on production efficiency, since it was possible to increase the number of orders delivered on time by 25% (from 60.1% in 2020 to 85.1% in 2021), which achieved the increase in the rate of perfect orders from 52.4% in 2020 to 77.3% by 2021, with an increase of 24.9%.
