The research carried out focused on analyzing the visual motifs of love and violence in the BL manga of the Heisei period. These Japanese literary productions have the particularity of narrating the story of a homosexual male couple, which begins with a situation of violence and ends in the formation of the relationship in a loving way. In this sense, it has been hypothesized that the visual motifs of love and violence in the BL manga of the Heisei period involve romantic, sexual expressions and asymmetric hierarchical power. The methodology proposed in the research was from a descriptive-exploratory qualitative approach, since it is interested in understanding in greater depth the phenomenon of visual motifs of love and violence in BL of the Heisei period. The population with which we worked were young people from Miraflores over eighteen years of age who read BL manga. The demonstrated intentional stratification has been used, which means that the Hidoku Shinaide and Okane Ga nai comics have been chosen because they recover the characteristics referred to as part of the BL genre and correspond to the period in which it has been selected to work, that is, the period Heisei. The corpus of the visual motifs of love and violence is delimited as the object of this investigation, as well as the visual narrative study that are in the BL manga in the aforementioned works. Among the main results found were that the visual motifs of love and violence are expressed in symbols (the deck of cards, love text messages, their course books and pens), symbols of sexuality (kisses and caresses) and symbols of power relations (high-end technology, jewelry, banknotes and coins). Likewise, it was recognized that the visual narrative is formulated through visual language (it uses general, full and medium shots) and the physical characteristics of the characters (they dress in a western way with a jacket, shirt and urban pants, although it is very common). So, it has been concluded that in the BL manga, Hidoku Shinaide and Okane Ga Nai, the relationships of the couples are characterized by establishing an asymmetric hierarchical relationship that is expressed in the visual motifs of love and violence that are the symbols of ostentation of power. Also, it can be identified in the visual narrative through the messages that are also used in their communications and the physical or clothing characteristics that each character presents.
