Objective: Determine the association between the level of indifference to dental treatment and the oral hygiene habits of those surveyed in adults aged between 18 and 45 years in the Buenos Aires de Villa urbanization in Chorrillos district. Materials and methods: An observational, analytical, and cross-sectional study was carried out, it was also carried out during the end of the year 2020 to 249 people of both sexes between 18 and 45 years of age. The level of indifference to dental treatment was evaluated using the instrument developed by Nuttall N., which is validated. For the present investigation, the questions of this questionnaire were sent to an institution to be translated, later the coefficients for their use were verified: Aiken's V to determine the validity of content, Cronbach's Alpha to establish the reliability of the instrument and after performing the Test Retest determine the degree of concordance using Cohen's Kappa statistic. Logistic regression was used for the association of qualitative variables and the crude and adjusted Odds Ratio (OR) report. We worked with a statistical significance level of p<0.05. Results: A high level of indifference to dental treatment was obtained in 57.83% of the population. Likewise, a statistically significant association was found between indifference to dental treatment with education (p<0.012), flossing (p<0.001) and brushing before bedtime (p<0.001), demonstrating in the raw analysis that those who do not use the mentioned accessories are more likely to have a high level of indifference to dental treatment. Conclusions: It was concluded that there is a statistically significant association between the high level of indifference to dental treatment and oral hygiene habits such as flossing and brushing before sleeping.
