Objective: To determine the association between access to dental services and oral health-related quality of life among older adults living in the city of Lima, Peru. Materials and methods: A total of 288 adults aged 60 years and older were surveyed in this study. For the evaluation of oral health-related quality of life of older adults, the "Oral Health Impact Profile" (OHIP-14) questionnaire was used in its validated Spanish version with a Cronbach's coefficient of 0.918. Likewise, questions extracted from the National Demographic and Family Health Survey 2018- Peru were used for the evaluation of access to dental services. In addition, other variables such as age, sex, education level, marital status, district, toothbrush use, toothpaste use, toothbrushing frequency, use of dental prosthesis, and upper and lower tooth loss were evaluated. Poisson linear multivariable regression with robust variance estimator and a fitted model was used taking into consideration all the mentioned co-variables. Incidence density rates (ID) were reported as a measure of association and with 95% confidence intervals. Results: Older adults who did not visit a dentist in more than 5 years or never had a higher OHIP (x̄:26.07, SD:13.67) than those who visited in less than 6 months (x̄:14.31, SD:8.52). However, in the adjusted model we did not find an association between OHIP and last dental care in any of its categories. Conclusions: There is no association between oral health-related quality of life and access to dental care in older adults living in Lima, Peru.
