The main objective of the study is to propose a model for improving inventory management for micro and small enterprises (SME) in the textile sector. This model uses the fundamentals of the Plan For Every Part tool and is complemented by Jidoka and the 5S for its implementation, as these two tools provide support in quality management and inventory organization. The Jidoka intervenes in the incorporation of a quality self-control system in each of the current processes by redesigning them, the 5S is in charge of encoding each textile component and providing an easily located physical space; and the Plan For Every Part provides a template with 5 information fields and 22 parameters where all the possible information on a textile component is gathered, such as its location, weekly demand, frequency of purchase and stock availability in real time. Subsequently, three indicators are defined that will serve to evaluate the results of the proposal and the implementation methodology is detailed, which is validated with the help of the Arena Simulation software by representing a current system and a proposed system. The results prove the usefulness of the model in textile SME by increasing effective operational productivity, reducing defective uniforms, and meeting scheduled deliveries.
