The objective of this research is to analyze how Peruvian translators make use of their capital (economic, cultural, social and symbolic) as strategies of labor insertion to reach the international market, and to know how much these strategies have varied from 1990 to 2019. This research will be based on the conceptual model of Pierre Bourdieu, who states that agents (Peruvian translators) make use of their resources (capital), adopting certain rules (habitus) within a given area (field). Although concepts such as habitus and field have been approached in the discipline of translation, capital has not been a widely used subject in this field. This study seeks to demonstrate the importance of symbolic capital during the process of labor market insertion in the international market and how this value has lasted over time. Therefore, semi-structured interviews will be conducted to translators with experience in this market. As well as the interview, content analysis will be another key instrument, since it will allow coding and extracting the most relevant information to test the hypothesis proposed for this research.
