Improve the level of service of an intersection sustainably evaluating the impact on its area of influence. By this, the collection characteristics of the intersections to analyze and gauging vehicle was performed. Then, using the SYNCHRO V8 program, modeling was performed, thus obtaining the current level of service for each intersection and the identification of its main weaknesses or problems. Thanks to this analysis it was possible to propose a comprehensive solution, which includes the design of new stoplight times for the flow pattern with VHMD higher value (critical stage), and complementary, changes in road geometric design main intersection, measures were evaluated in a new model. Subsequently, a comparative analysis between the results of different simulation models made, where it was shown that managed to obtain the desired improvement in the level of service was performed. Finally, new stoplight cycles for patterns other than the most VHMD less critical flow scenarios are presented.
