This dissertation aims to improve the understanding on the seismic performance of UPT walls by providing (1) extensive experimental data of the seismic performance of UPT walls, (2) experimental data on the ultimate behavior of UPT walls components, unbonded anchorage systems and external replaceable dampers, and (3) extensive numerical data to improve design methodologies and analytical tools. The primary objective of this dissertation is to propose and validate a performance-based design procedure for UPT walls with the aim of controlling the residual damage of precast concrete building subjected to large earthquakes. To this end, this research aims to extend the understanding of the experimental response, numerical modeling, and practical application of UPT walls implementing both internal and external replaceable dampers.
