The study focused on the development of a testing protocol for Pulmochip, an innovative medical device created by DRAEGER PERÚ SAC, designed to evaluate the effective protection factor of respirators used by workers. In the mining context, mineral extraction involves the use of blasting with explosives, which generates dust that can cause serious occupational respiratory diseases. Based on the literature by Correa M., 2017, and Acevedo J., 2015, the present study was developed in 4 phases, starting with the collection of current standards according to national and international frameworks and the state of the art, and culminating in the development and validation of a testing protocol for Pulmochip. The study aimed to link the development of the testing protocol with the variables of availability, reliability, and maintainability of Pulmochip. Finally, the developed testing protocol was compared with others, resulting in a 90% competent rating, meaning that the development of the testing protocol represented a significant advance in improving the safety and health of mining workers using this device. Additionally, it positively impacted its availability, reliability, and maintainability according to the Likert scale.
