Humanized care is the main basis of all nursing care to provide comprehensive care to the patient, not only in the therapeutic part, but also in a holistic way, where the values of each patient are reinforced and highlighted. Dehumanization is one of the biggest problems that exists within nursing care, which is why it is important to know how patients perceive the various care provided by nursing. Objective: to determine the perception of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment on humanized nursing care at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases. Material and method: the study had a non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. The sample was made up of 256 volunteers, to whom the virtual instrument was applied and the statistical program STATA versión 17 was used to analyze the data. Results: 39.8% of cancer patients in the chemotherapy area have a favorable perception of the humanized care provided by the nurse and 3.5% did not receive such care. In the dimensions qualities of nursing work, openness to nurse-patient communication and willingness to provide care, a favorable perception prevailed in 44.5%, 36.3% and 48.4% respectively. Conclusions: in the area of adult outpatient chemotherapy, the perception was mostly favorable regarding the humanized care provided by nurses.
