One of the most substantial factors that ensure that a projected building has a successful execution, where the goals and objectives are met, is having a planning and work schedule —the more detailed it is—, it will help us to resolve and facilitate all possible setbacks that may occur during the execution itself. Within the different methodologies to carry out this planning, there are new and innovative alternatives; In this case, the location management system, known as Location-Based Management System (LBMS), which through a 5D BIM model, using interoperability, managing deadlines, resources, and crews, has several advantages, compared to other traditional methodologies. Within the investigation, a planning of the structural stage of a building in the city of Cusco will be carried out, focusing on the realization of the technical file; through this location-based management system; and in turn comparing this same planning with the traditional CPM methodology. In this present work, a comparative analysis of the Location Based Management System (LBMS) management system is carried out based on a 5D BIM model and the CPM methodology and, in the cost and schedule management of a building in the specialty of structures. in the city of Cusco. For this, the BIM Revit 2020 software was used to carry out the 3D modeling, the Vico Office R6.7 software to carry out a 5D BIM model and the Schedule Planner software to carry out valued planning schedules through flow lines (linked to Vico Office). It was concluded that the management system through locations improves time management and a project schedule, in addition to optimizing the visualization of possible problems, difficulties and inconveniences that generate delays in project management.
